Head, heart and nature is the basis for my work.

Nature is the nexus from which all my art begins. From here I follow my head and heart. They serve as the filters that shape my perception. This allows for a deep, intimate relationship with most of my work.

Much of my work is derived from my heritage, travel, music, dance, current social and political events and the environment. This provides a vast, unending trove ripe for expression.

My mediums are photography, mixed media/assemblage, textile, found art and visual presentation/installation. Sometimes I work solely within a medium. More often I work in combination.

The goal with my work is to share a dialogue with the viewer. Combining disparate objects/ images allows me to create a narrative, to transform the materials at hand and breathe new life and meaning into them.

I create because I am compelled to. It is a constant itch. I do it for my own satisfaction. I do it to share my vision. It is my voice. It is art by design.
